Desire and Power

For God is working in you [ME], giving you [ME] the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. Philippians 2:13 NLT

Say this scripture aloud daily, replacing you with ME...this is a powerful scripture.

Love the WORD...krbz

Watch Your Mouth!

*Just wanted to share one of my favorite pairs of shoes with you...nothing like a nice, red, patent leather pump!*

So often we are quick to say whatever comes to our mind, be it positive or negative, without considering the POWER behind those words.

How many times have you started your day by saying "Oh, I am so tired" and all day long you repeated that same sentiment, "I just can't seem to get enough coffee to shake this tiredness" and ALL day you felt tired.  Or maybe you repeatedly talk about how "broke" or "fat" you are and wonder why the situation never changes.  Could it be that your MOUTH is controlling your thoughts, which in turn is affecting your actions.  It is amazing what the mouth and mind can do.

If you are trying to lose weight, instead of talking about how difficult it is or will be, why not say "I am disciplined enough to apply the methods necessary to lose this weight without a problem" THEN be disciplined by putting some action behind it.

Maybe, you are trying to get out of debt.  Speak it...Say "I am excited about the creative ideas that God has given me to eliminate debt from my life and the life of my family" then look for creative ideas (have a yard sale, eliminate extra spending [do you really need to eat out for breakfast, lunch AND dinner?!])

There is power in the words you say and the thoughts you have.  James Allen, wasn't off base when he wrote the book "As a Man Thinketh" in 1902, as he simply confirmed what the Bible tells us in Proverbs 23:7, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..."
The words that exit your mouth have POWER, so WATCH YOUR MOUTH! krbz

31 Days of Celebration: SELF-DECLARATION

This is something I say to myself -
I was created in God’s image; He instilled in me gifts and talents to be used for His glory.  Faith without works is dead, so I walk, talk, and live the victory because the battle is already won.  I am more than a conqueror and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.  My God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory because He wishes above all things that I prosper and be in good health, as my soul prospers.   I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength.  I am a leader, chosen to impart wisdom, set direction, give guidance and motivate others to accomplish their goals and achieve their dreams.  I am an example of a virtuous woman carrying myself with integrity, honesty, dignity and respect.  I possess an honorable character and selflessly serve others.  I am confident that He who began a good work will perfect it until the day of Christ; therefore my end will be greater than my beginning.  I am free, because He who the Son sets free is free indeed.

*I choose to speak life over myself, my family and others.* As one thinketh (speaketh) so they are!

Everybody Gets a Ring

According to Wikipedia - "A championship ring is a ring presented to members of winning teams in professional sports leagues, and, in North America, college tournaments."

If all the members of a winning team, win and are rewarded for winning, wouldn't it make sense for EVERYone on the team to play their position in order to guarantee success?  Far too often team members are after their own "glory" and fail to remember the value of team work.  For example: if we are all members of the body of Christ why are we competing against one another for notoriety, instead of working together to win souls to Christ.  We are already on a winning team so why not play our position to obtain our crown.  Scottie Pippen knew the benefit of playing his position because Jordan needed Pippen to be at the right place at the right time in order to score; the same way God needs us to be in place, doing the right thing at the right time.  When the Bulls won, everyone got a ring even the dude that sat on the bench.  The benchwarmer practiced and was ready if he was ever needed, he cheered for the team and encouraged his team.  We may not be Jordan or Pippen, but are we ready if God calls us to fill in?  Are we practicing and doing our part to win?  Teamwork is essential because when the team wins, we all win!  Everybody gets a ring!!

31 Days of Celebration and Gratitude - Day 8

...and the celebration continues. :) Today I am grateful for my husband.  Since high school I have been able to talk to him, laugh with him, cry with him, dream with him, learn from him and grow with him.  While neither of us are perfect, nor do we have the perfect relationship, we are perfect for each other.  In those moments of frustration, aggravation, and irritation he is still the one God created to cover and lead me.  I am thankful that he is sensitive to the voice of God which makes him easier to follow:)  I am thankful that he understands the importance of teamwork which playing this game called "Life" a lil' easier.  I am thankful that he has a desire to do better and pushes me to be better.  I am thankful that he makes me smile, even when I don't want to; he makes me laugh when I want to cry my eyes out; he supports my dreams even when I can't see them; he loves and nurtures our children like a REAL FATHER should and he prays...  Today, during my birth-month as I celebrate me, I can't help but be thankful for my husband - I love him to life!

31 Days of Celebration and Gratitude - Day 5

The celebration hasn't stopped and my gratitude is continuous. Today I am thankful for growth. Growth is a process we should learn to embrace. As children we grow without realizing it, until we put on the pants our parents bought a few months earlier only for them to now dangle at our ankles. Being that as adults we do not really hit regular physical growth spurts, what areas do we really have to grow in? We can grow spiritually, financially, relationally, mentally and physically. If we aren't noticing growth in these areas of our lives a check-up is needed. Although, through out the year I check myself for growth (like the kid who marks the wall to measure how tall they are getting) I use my birth month as a time to go deep. I don't want to waste time or another year...I want to be a better me. So today I am thankful for growth.

31 Days of Celebration and Gratitude - Day One

Today is the first day of August, my birth month. I enjoy using this month as a time to reflect on my growth during the past year and set goals for the upcoming year. One thing I am certain of, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I am TRULY BLESSED! Everyday I am able to share my life with four awesome people...my husband and three children. They light up my life and for them, I am thankful!
